Matiang'i, while speaking on Wednesday during a meeting attended by the Head of State, NASA leader Raila Odinga, DP William Ruto, Chief Justice David Maraga and other Gusii leaders at Kisii school, said he's focused to deliver.

"I am ready to serve Kenyans in my new role you gave me Mr President. I want to assure that I will not joke and let you down. I must deliver since you trusted me to the extent that you promoted me," he said.

The former education minister said he will work closely with his colleagues in cabinet to ensure the president's Big 4 Agenda are realized.

"I have already engaged my colleagues in cabinet to prioritize development so that we can help the President achieve his development agenda," said Matiang'i.

The vocal Matiang'i said corruption is an enemy to development.

"I wish to urge leaders to shun corruption since the money being stolen is supposed to be used to fund varous development projects in this country," he added.
