Kethi Kilonzo is among the most respected lawyers in the country.
She burst into the national limelight in 2013 during President Uhuru Kenyatta's petition at the Supreme Court.
Kethi is a sister to the Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior and the daughter to the late Mutula Kilonzo.
After the death of her father, Kethi joined politics to inherit her father’s senatorial seat.
Her dream was, however, shortened by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) after it was confirmed that she wasn’t a registered voter, thus limiting her to contest for any political seat in the country.
This raised more concerns from her supporters since she was most-likely to inherit her late father’s seat.
Kethi on her side maintained that she was registered and the Constitution gives her the right to inherit her father’s senatorial seat.
The riddle surrounding her registration and how she got the slip left most of her supporters scratching their heads.
After thorough investigations, it was found that the document she presented to the IEBC for her clearance was fake and stolen from a booklet used to register former President Mwai Kibaki.
This worsened her political dream.
She later gave up and let her brother Mutula Kilonzo Junior contest for the seat which he won.
