A 68-year-old granny has scored 146 out of 500 marks in the just announced Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results.
Veronica Kaleso said she is looking forward to joining secondary school in January 2019.
Kaleso who sat the examinations at Unoa primary school in Makueni County said she is satisfied with her performance.
"I thank the Ministry of Education for releasing the results early for those joining the high school to prepare. I'm hoping to join form one next year, I'm very happy about my performance," Kaleso said.
She addressed the press in Makueni on Tuesday.
Kaleso said she went back to school so as to know how to count, use a smartphone, write and speak English.
She said her employees and customers were stealing from her since she didn't know how to count money.
The granny added that she was finding it hard to converse in English and was required to find a translator to aid her where she didn't understand.
"I'm a farm manager and I have been counting loses since my employees and customers steal from me taking advantage that I didn't know how to count," Kaleso said.
"I also have a smartphone that I don't know how to operate, I had to go back to school to acquire knowledge that will enable me to do things on my own," she added.
