It has now emerged that ODM leader Raila Odinga's two daughters will be away from the city for the next few days.
Winnie Odinga and her elder sister Rosemary on Friday left Nairobi for their rural home in Kang'o Ka Raila, otherwise known as Opoda Farm in Bondo, Siaya county.
This is according to a tweet by Winnie who noted that they will be joining their mother, Ida in the village.
"After two days of intense suffering in Nairobi traffic apocalypse we are off to the village for some quiet time with our mother Ida," Winnie tweeted.
Their departure comes only two days after Raila's return from China, where he attended the Second Road and Belt forum in his capacity as the African Union Infrastructure envoy.
He accompanied President Uhuru Kenyatta who also attended the forum and went ahead to sight a number of development agreements with the Chinese government.
Raila's return was marred with mockery from his critics after reports emerged that his initial claims that they would secure an Sh368 billion loan for the extension of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) from Naivasha to Kisumu were a hoax.
It is not clear whether Raila and his son Raila Odinga Junior will be joining the rest in Bondo.
