Residents of Gatuta village in Nyamwanga, Manga in Nyamira County are mourning the dead of a man who was killed by unknown assailants and his body dumped under his bed.
Confirming the incident area administrator Lameck Kumenda said the deceased body John Otwori Ogongo was found hidden under his bed on Monday morning.
"Otwori has been living alone for the last 2 months now after his wife went to seek medication in Nairobi. He was killed and his body hidden under the bed," he said.
Kumenda said the deceased killers mutilated his body before dumping it.
"Otwori had visible injuries on the neck and this indicates that he struggled with his killers," he added.
The chief said crime won't be condoned in the area arguing that those committing crime should know their days are numbered.
"Probe has commenced to establish the motive of the brutal killing. Anyone with information about the killing should report to authorities," he stated.
According to the chief, the killers broke the door of the house before committing the murder.
He said the body of Otwori was moved by police officers to Nyamira hospital morgue.
