Early this year, Sonko, a Jubilee stalwart, caused a stir when he picked Miguna, a self-proclaimed NRM general and a fierce critic of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

"There was pressure everywhere, blackmail and intimidations. I was tired with bullying," he said in an interview at Milele FM on Wednesday.

He added: " I am sorry for picking Miguna because I did it out if anger. Some people were giving me unnecessary ultimatums."

While facing the woes, Sonko had accused State House operatives led by Interior PS Karanja Kibicho of piling unnecessary pressure on him.

His former deputy Polycarp Igathe resigned in January over what he called lack of mutual understanding with his boss.

At Milele FM, Sonko named four women to the position of Deputy Governor among them Margaret Wanjiru and Karen Nyamu from which the Assembly will chose.

In a leaked conservation with his Kiambu counterpart Ferdinand Waititu, Sonko is heard confessing that State House runs Nairobi County.

"Unajua mimi nimekaliwa. Wewe pigia Nzioka au mkubwa akusaidie," he said in reference to Uhuru.
