The teachers Giant union KNUT Secretary General Wilson Sossion has undertaken to give tutorials on the steps the new curriculum would have been involved to be implemented.
Speaking on Monday morning at day break on Citizen TV, Sossion noted that none of the steps was fully and satisfactorily followed to the latter to warrant the implementation of the CBC.
"Steps involved in reforming a curriculum are: One must do an evaluation of the current curriculum and see whether or not it has served us well. According to Sossion it was not done; Assessment which he noted that it was poorly done;and Developing policy framework which he said was not done till date,"he said
Sossion further added that the union anticipated the ministry to hold a national conversation involving stakeholders from all spheres to speak on the curriculum but was not done.
"We expected a huge national conversation,that we would identify/prepare for the gaps because CBC is not a walk in the park.
"We have the moral duty as teachers who have been professionally trained on the processes of curriculum review to tell Kenyans the truth,"he added
The teachers union has been at the loggerheads with the ministry of education and TSC over the new curriculum ever since it was introduced to the country and approved by the head of state.
