After the truce between opposition chief Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta that brought peace and ended tribal enmity in the country, Raila has earned himself the title of a statesman.
His action has attracted praises from several international leaders.
Speaking in an interview with Citizen TV on Tuesday, Raila revealed that his actions have been praised by the former US President Barack Obama during his last visit to Kenya.
Raila also said the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also lauded his efforts to unite the country together with President Uhuru.
"This is something new not only in Kenya [but also] in Africa and even the world. Wherever I have been to, leaders of the continent have called me but more from outside. Obama came here, he had all the praises, when [I traveled to] India, I met the Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi; he was full of praises and said that the country was going to collapse,” said the opposition leader.
South Africa's President Cyril Ramaphosa also lauded Raila on his reconciliation efforts noting that scholars from his country would like to study what happened in Kenya.
“When I met Cyril Ramaphosa the other day in South Africa, he was full of praises and said people want to come and study what happened in Kenya,” noted the NASA leader.
