Earlier this week, Ms Odhiambo poked holes at Wanga's competence in resource management as the race to succeed Governor Cyprian Awiti took new shape.

"She has not done well with the National Government Affirmative Action Fund and the ever money-consuming SACCO. Her style of leadership is abbrasive, divisive and manipulative.

"I hereby declare you do not have my support. You can unleash all the online warriors in heaven and on earth but it only makes my resolve firm," she wrote on Facebook.https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10156155305380910&id=571795909.

In a separate function, Millie had also dismissed Gladys Wanga as an outsider who does not deserve to lead Homa Bay due to her roots in Kisumu.

But on Wednesday, Wanga decried discrimination from fellow women, indirectly accusing Millie Odhiambo of hypocrisy in the ongoing debate about gender Bill.

"Discrimination against women is becoming rampant. We are being told that just because I was born in Kisumu, I can't contest in Homa Bay. Mr Speaker this is what I am told by hypocrites. This is time for men to respect women and fellow women to think above board."

While Wanga has openly declared her bid, Millie Odhiambo is yet to but closely works with Homa Bay Town MP Opondo Kaluma, who is said to be keen with gubernatorial seat as well.
