Nyamira MCAs used Sh134 million irregularly for unauthorised travels in the Financial Year 2016/17, Auditor General Robert Ouko has revealed.
This comes barely a month after EACC ranked Nyamira as one of the most corrupt counties based on bribery index.
And in the report, Mr. Ouko questions the circumstances under which the money was withdrawn and payments made contrary to the law.
Former Speaker Joash Nyamoko, now the North Mugirango MP and former clerk Daniel Orina may be visitors of the state should DPP Noordin Haji take over the matter.
Already, currently assembly speaker Moffat Teya and the CASB kicked out Mr. Orina over graft related issues early this year.
The latest revelations could ignite heated political debates given that EACC is also investigating the current assembly over Sh379 million bulding over what they termed as 'irregular procurement'.
But Mr. Teya insists that the law was duly followed when the multimillion tender was awarded early this year.
Locals are now calling for prosecution of Mr. Nyamoko and Orina, who were in charge of the assembly when the alleged graft took place.
The fresh graft claims comes amid intensified purge by EACC, DPP and DCI with over fifty state officials now facing serious economic charges in various courts across the country.
