Deputy President William Ruto seems to be having it very hard coordinating his Rift Valley backyard, courtesy of increasing rebellion and threats from fellow politicians.

His main rival and threat currently is Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, a son to retired President Daniel Moi, who seems silently planning to finish him going forward.

Though Senator Moi remains bullish and keeps threatening to teach him a lesson in the future, DP Ruto can finish him by simply turning everyone against him.

The DP has proved his ability to turn tables on bigger and more experienced politicians and can be directly linked to the changes in among others, the Coast and Western region which were previously predominantly allied to the opposition.

He can use the same to push for the defection of leaders allied to Moi, for instance, Tiaty lawmaker William Kamket, and leave him isolated.

If pushed to the corner and left with no one to keep him company, it is very likely that Senator Moi will have no other option but to join Ruto, the DP will have accomplished his mission.

The other option is to strangle Moi's KANU party by ensuring that it gets no elective seats in Rift Valley in 2022.

This way, the Senator will have no moral authority to challenge the DP who will have scooped all the seats and will have been neutralized.

Also, he can ensure that the Kanu chairman does not hold any seat after the 2022 polls. The DP must bring a strong candidate to run against him (Moi) in whatever seat he will vie for in the race. By having him out, Moi will not find any platform to castigate or compete against Ruto.

By the time he will be bouncing back in 2027, should he manage to, Ruto will have made big strides and made himself untouchable.

For fear of being thrown out again, the lawmaker will have to behave.
