Thika town has continued to witness an influx in student population as many middle-level colleges and private universities continue to mushroom.
However, these students take a time away from classes especially on weekends to visit local entertainment joints to at least take 'two for the road'.
However, these students are known to be rowdy, chaotic and often pick fights with other revellers whenever they show up.
So, how do you identify student revellers in a Thika club?
1. They drink sparingly. Student revellers are easily identifiable by the manner in which they drink. They will take hours to finish whichever drink they are consuming due to the fact that they don't have much to spend on drinks.
They will, therefore, stay with a drink long enough in the hope that a reveller that they know may just show up in the bar and order them something.
2. They mix alcohol with a lot of water. While it is advisable to take plenty of water when out on a drinking spree, these students just overdo it. They do not use all these jugs of water for health purposes, but to prolong their drinks' life.
3. They are noisy and keep loitering in the club. Once a student reveller takes something small say a concentrated spirit, he/she becomes noisy and unruly. Their mobility is also instantly activated and you will sometimes see them moving from one table to the next soliciting for alcohol from other revellers.
4. Keep dancing aimlessly in the club while drunk throwing orders to the DJ on the kind of music he/she should play. Sometimes bouncers are called in to throw them out when they become a nuisance to other revellers.
