The decision to freeze all new government projects by President Uhuru Kenyatta is a clever move to sabotage DP William Ruto's 2022 chances, Patrick Osero has said.

At KICC on Friday, Uhuru warned government officials against starting new projects without the completion of the existing ones.

"There will be no new projects that will be embarked until you complete those that are ongoing," warned Uhuru.

Lately, Ruto has been traversing across the country launching new projects and the latest directive could have been targeting him.

And Osero, a perennial parliamentary candidate in Borabu and a close ally of Ruto says the DP will now have to reinvent himself to survive the storm.

"I was at KICC and the president was in a foul mood. There will be no launching of new projects and this means that Ruto's movements across the country will be limited," he said, adding that the DP is the biggest loser.

The DP has visited Coast, Western and Northern Kenya in recent months where he has been launching projects.

But in his statement, Uhuru insisted that he is fighting wastage of public resources in the government operations.
