Maangi dismissed claims that he is planning to impose himself on the people of Kisii County.

"I will not force people of Kisii County to be their governor. I'll go home in peace if I can't win the governorship seat. Rivals should stop loitering around telling lies that I intend to impose on the electorates," he noted when he condoled with the family and friends of the late Dr. Bob John on Friday in Bomachoge.

The ODM allied Governor insisted that the electorates will have their final say on who should be the next governor in 2022.

Maangi challenged local politicians intending to vie for various political seats in 2022 to give humble time for the current elected leaders to deliver as by their campaign promises.

"There is a need for those who lost in 2017 to give a supporting hand to those who won to deliver before 2022 polls. Spreading propaganda with an aim of seeking relevance in politics won't help one to win votes in 2022," he added.

He promised that Kisii County government is committed to ensuring development projects are completed in time.

"No project will be left unattended. Development is our priority," said Maangi.
