Speaking at Masinga market in Machakos County after commissioning the Kivandini-Masinga road alongside his counterparts Alfred Mutua (Machakos) and Charity Ngilu (Kitui) on Wednesday, Kibwana said the choice belongs to him.

Kibwana revealed that he has asked other leaders from the region to go for the top seat when that time comes.

The unshaken county boss, who had earlier asked Kalonzo to reveal the details of his meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta said he will not be threatened to change his stand.

Kibwana said he has no problem with Mutua who has been a thorn in Kalonzo's flesh since he left Wiper, contesting for the top seat when that time comes.

He further insisted that he has no plans to spoil for Kalonzo as he looks forward to ascending to power in 2022.

“The Wiper members must stop threatening us by telling us we must support so and so for the Presidency. Anyone who wants to vie for the Presidency has a right to do so under the Constitution,” Kibwana said in part.

Kalonzo is banking on the support of the entire Kamba community to win the Presidential race.
