The Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) officers in Somalia have been accused of massive destruction of property.
The latest incident reportedly involving KDF officers is the vandalism of a telephone tower costing approximately 1.5 billion shillings.
Former National Assembly Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim faulted the incident terming it a proxy war.
"Hormuud telephone towers costing over Kshs 1.5B have been destroyed by KDF. Naked aggression in Int. Law. Why is our Government bullying Somalia? Is this a proxy war? Gulf States shopping for a mercenary state to cause a war to stop drilling of Somali non-dispute oil blocks..." Maalim posted.
This is not the first time that Maalim is accusing the Kenyan soldiers of overstepping their mandate in Somalia.
In the past, the vocal Garissa politician criticized KDF officers for allegedly engaging in charcoal burning, allegations that the Defence Ministry disputed terming them untrue.
