Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has rubbished claims that patients in the county's public hospitals share beds and other facilities.
Ngilu said the reports in a section of the media are pure propaganda being peddled by people opposing her development agenda.
Addressing the press at her office in Kitui on Thursday, Ngilu said the county's public hospitals are well equipped.
Ngilu said there were no cases of patients sharing beds in public hospitals within the county.
“These are pure propaganda by some busybodies who are out to frustrate my leadership,” Ngilu said.
Ngilu said her government has invested fully in the health sector.
She told the residents not to worry.
The governor said she will not be dragged into petty politics by noisemakers who want to frustrate her leadership.
“I am focused on working for the Kitui people and will not listen to propaganda and malice," the NARC governor said.
On Sunday, Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua claimed that patients were sharing beds at Kitui Level Five Hospital.
The senator had pleaded with Ngilu to intervene by ensuring that public hospitals are well equipped the entire Kitui County.
