Changes are coming, inevitable ones, as the nation approaches another general election, third after the coming of devolved governments.
In Luo Nyanza, 3 of the 4 governors will be replaced with new ones, considering that the trio is on it's second and last term.
Homabay County gubernatorial race will be the most watched, as the number of hopefuls keep ballooning by the day.
So far, county Woman Representative Gladys Wanga, Suba South lawmaker John Mbadi, and Homabay Town parliamentarian Opondo Kaluma have hinted on vying.
However, the seat will most likely be clinched by Mbadi who seems to be closer to opposition leader and area political kingpin Raila Odinga.
Mbadi has also loyally led Raila's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party for years and will most likely be repaid with an endorsement.
In Siaya, the contest will be for Senator James Orengo to lose.
He is the 'next' Governor of the county as incumbent county chief Cornel Rasanga heads back home.
In Migori, Senator Ochillo Ayacko will most likely realize his dream which was quashed by area Governor Okoth Obado in the 2017 race.
Obado also enjoys Raila's support as was witnessed in the concluded Senatorial by election in the county, one which elevated him to his current seat.
In Kisumu, incumbent Governor Anyang' Nyong'o will surely secure a reelection, thanks to his clean development record.
