Bomachoge Chache Member of Parliament Alpha Miruka has announced that needy but bright students in the constituency will benefit from Sh22 million bursaries.
The lawmaker said he has allocated the money from the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) kitty to ensure bright but needy students don't miss classes due to lack of school fees.
"Throughout my tenure, I will ensure there is fair disbursement of bursaries to learners. Bright and needy learners will be given priority because it is through education that the region can produce future doctors, nurses, teachers among other professionals," Miruka said.
He appealed to parents in the constituency not to allow their children to drop out of school saying the government is investing more in education.
"The government is offering free education to all children. Parents should take responsibility to ensure their children go to school. As an MP, I will champion for education by issuing out bursaries without discrimination," the MP assured.
He also appealed to his rivals to join hands with him to serve the electorates saying politics of propaganda won't help them win votes in 2022 noting that "I am ready to work with my rivals to boost the lives of the people."
