Kinanie Ward Representative Mark Muendo is the new Majority Leader at the Machakos County Assembly.
This is after Francis Ngunga who was holding the position lost his case at Machakos High Court.
Ngunga filed a petition in April opposing his ousting as the Majority Leader by the assembly members.
He said that the house had not followed the due procedure in relinquishing him from his position.
Delivering his verdict on Tuesday, judge David Kimei said that he has no powers to decide who takes the position and that it should be the mandate of the assembly.
The court had stopped the election of a majority leader pending determination of the case.
Ngunga who also doubles as Mua ward representative was ousted on claims of abuse of office and failing in his leadership. His colleagues accused him of not delivering on his mandate and that he used his office wrongly.
Ngunga had claimed that his ousting was politically ignited mostly because he had announced to work with governor Alfred Mutua.
