National soccer team, Harambee Stars striker Michael Olunga was on fire on Saturday as he scored a goal to aid his Kashiwa Raysol side to a shock 3-0 win over Japanese Premier League joint table leaders Sanfrecce Hiroshima.

The match was played at Hiroshima’s Edion Stadium, with Olunga registering his name on the score sheet in the 35th minute.

The former Gor Mahia striker showed much composure to curl home the goal using his trade mark left foot after being given a fantastic pass by Brazilian-born midfielder Christiano (not Christiano Ronaldo).

“Good to be on the score sheet once again. Thank you Lord for your goodness,” he posted on his facebook page after the match.

Junya Ito had scored Raysol’s first two goals in the match. The win lifted Olunga’s side from the relegation spot.

The team is now 14th on the 18-team-table with 33 points after 29 rounds of matches. Olunga scored again last weekend as his team went down 2-3 against Urawa Red Diamonds.

The striker has picked form in good time ahead of Kenya’s Group F Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier match against hosts Ethiopia on Wednesday.

A goal for Olunga and a win for Harambee Stars in that match will move Kenya one step closer to the 2019 AFCON tournament in Cameroon.

The last time Kenya participated in AFCON was way back in 2004, in Tunisia.
