Kisii County Governor James Ongwae, a close ally to ODM party leader Raila Odinga has insisted that there is plenty supply of water at Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital.
Ongwae said his political rivals are after spreading propaganda to mislead members of the public that there is a shortage of water at the facility serving thousands of people from Kisii, Nyamira and other neighbouring counties.
"My government is keen in ensuring a reliable water infrastructure for the Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital which is undergoing transformation development using our share of devolved funds."
"KTRH now has a robust water supply, purification and storage system with capacity to run 24 hours daily in all general use including direct consumption, laundry, hygiene and for theatre use," he said.
The ODM governor confirmed the the county government has built a 300,000 liters underground water tank next to Nyangito wing which has new 250 bed capacity ward.
He said the water system is enhanced with reliable boreholes and a high caliber water pump with high volume tower tanks to ensure water flows to ward by gravity.
"I am committed in ensuring all public facilities in the county are connected to reliable water supply," he added.
