Former Makadara parliamentary aspirant Brian Weke has bashed Deputy President William Ruto over his alleged defiance of President Uhuru Kenyatta's orders against early 2022 campaigns.
Speaking on Wednesday, Weke who is also a lawyer predicted tough days ahead for the DP, only days after Uhuru indirectly bashed a section of his allies for premature politicking.
The Institute for Education in Democracy (IED) boss said that Ruto should warm up for more attacks in the future, thanks to his reluctance to wholly back the president in delivering.
He opined that the DP is a victim of his 2022 presidential ambitions, which he said have completely made him politically numb, to an extent that he is openly disrespecting Uhuru.
"What is eating up the Deputy President is that he is being told to stop early campaigns but is downplaying the president (Kitu inakula Deputy President ni hii mambo anaambiwa stop early campaigns na anadharau president)," said Weke.
The political commentator made the remarks during an interview on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi on Wednesday night, also attended by Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri.
Ngunjiri is a die hard supporter the DP.
Weke said that Ruto might with time find himself tied up completely as the president forces his way to realize his reelection manifesto.
He advised the DP to resign and wholly begin campaigning, as his current conduct does not correspond with what is expected of him.
"If he wants to follow his route the DP should resign and join politics (Kama anataka kufuata hii mwenendo DP aresign aingie kwa siasa)," added Weke.
