One of the cultures that have remained untouched is the culture of house building, a tradition that is still intact in the village where people build their own houses.

Houses are built in a certain formation, the ones standing out the most being the one of the first wife which is built right opposite the gate, facing outside.

But before you get there, you will have to go past the house of the first born male of the homestead, if he has not moved out yet, built right at the gate, on the left hand as you go in.

The house stands on your right hand side as you leave the homestead, a culture that according to traditions, is aimed at fortifying the homestead.

The plan is to ensure that any alien who invades the homestead faces the 'wuoi maduong' (big son) before moving in.

He is, therefore, entrusted with the safety of the family, and is left exposed to any attack, expected to do his best to protect the family, according to historical culture.

The second boy, on the other hand, builds his house opposite his elder brother's house, only that his should face the inside of the homestead, turning its back on the gate.
