Former Starehe Member of Parliament Margaret Wanjiru was once a political force to reckon with in the country's politics especially Nairobi.
The former Housing Assistant Minister was a close ally of ODM leader Raila Odinga before she fell out with him after the 2013 general election.
The Jesus Is Alive Ministries Bishop has remained in the political cold but has continued to focus on her religious calling.
As the 2022 succession politics gains momentum, Wanjiru could be among politicians setting their eyes on a possible political return.
Wanjiru has several times maintained that her ambition to be Nairobi Governor is still alive. But can she make a comeback and possibly win the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in 2022?
Bishop Wanjiru's political ambition is still alive and her ambition for Nairobi governor seat could come true. Governor Mike Sonko has hinted that it is not a must for him to seek re-election in 2022. She can capitalize if Sonko fails to seek re-election for the seat.
The Bishop should also consider her political party if she wants to make a comeback. She can stand a higher chance of making a comeback if she makes an emotional return to Raila's side. With ODM, Wanjiru can easily bid for the Nairobi county top seat and win owing to the fact the party enjoys and controls City politics.
She can also opt to keep off politics and focus on her evangelical mission.
"There are a lot of things going on around and we can only talk about 2022 when the right time comes," the Bishop said when reached for a comment on her social media platform on Friday.
