It will be a rare coincidence in the life of Deputy President William Ruto as he is set to celebrate three different major events in a single day, today (Friday).
Apart from graduating with a PhD at the University of Nairobi, the DP is also celebrating his birthday and marriage anniversary.
Born on December 21, 1966, at Kamagut village in Uasin Gishu, the self-proclaimed hustler from Sugoi in Turbo constituency is today celebrating his 52nd birthday.
Another great event in his life is changing his title from William Ruto to Dr William Ruto. He will be graduating with a doctorate of philosophy degree from the University of Nairobi.
This will see him earn a PhD in Plant Ecology which he enrolled in Agust 2022. He failed to graduate in 2016 as he couldn't meet all requirements.
Furthermore, DP Ruto will today be celebrating 27 years of marriage with his wife Rachel Ruto. They have been blessed with seven children.
Ruto's journey in politics started way back in 1992 when he was a member of the Youth for Kanu lobby group popularly known as YK'92 before winning the then Eldoret North constituency parliamentary seat in 1997 after beating the then MP Reuben Chesire, a position he served until 2013 when he picked as a running mate to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He is now eyeing the top seat in 2022.
