Kisumu Woman Representative Rosa Buyu has questioned why Deputy President William Ruto is yet to publicly speak about the plot to assassinate him.
In an interview with Citizen TV's DayBreak show on Tuesday, Buyu said DP Ruto must come out to address the claims as the Directorate of the Criminal Investigations (DCI) looks into the matter.
“What I find intriguing is that the claim is anonymous and no one is coming out to actually say that they made the claim. If there is any truth in it then the DP must come out openly and publicly to make/ own that statement,” she said.
Joe Mucheru (ICT), Peter Munya (Trade), Cecilly Kariuki (Health) and James Macharia (Transport) have been linked to the claims.
Buyu also said that the matter should not be ignored because of the seriousness it holds. She noted that some situations have been taken lightly only for the complainant to land in trouble.
“Any threat to anybody’s life is serious and should be taken seriously. We have had situations in the past where people have cried wolf, no action was taken and ended up losing their lives. The fact that this the DP then it makes it more serious," observed the Kisumu Woman Rep.
