Former Kisii County Women Rep Mary Otara now says she supports Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 bid.
According to Otara, Ruto is a visionary leader and his presidency will transform Kenya by improving the economy.
“Ruto has proved to be a visionary leader for the years he has served as Uhuru’s Deputy. Ruto is fit for the big seat in 2022 and he has all my support,” she said.
She challenged local Jubilee leaders to be on high alert to ensure oversight role is done properly to ensure Nyamira and Kisii County residents enjoys the fruits of devolution.
Otara, who unsuccessfully defended her seat on a Jubilee ticket during the last year’s polls said she doesn’t regret dumping ODM.
"I felt uncomfortable and jumped to Jubilee because the ruling party is doing a good job. Opposition leaders should be ignored.
"It is time Kenyans must wake up and ensure DP Ruto becomes the next president after Uhuru completes his term in 2022,” she noted.
She rubbished claims that she has lost fame politically saying she is ready to face off with opponents in 2022.
She was speaking on Tuesday at Nyandoche Ibere in Bonchari, Kisii County.
