Speaking at Ingotse Secondary School in Navakholo constituency, Kakamega, on Saturday during a fundraiser for a water project, Mudavadi asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to fire all corrupt officials in his government for the sake of development.

He noted that graft has reached unprecedented levels, which has hampered development in various sectors of the economy over years.

He argued that firing the corrupt is the beginning of the change Uhuru promised to transform the lives of Kenyans after burying his political differences with African High Representative for Infrastructure Development Raila Odinga.

The politician said that the nation is losing billions to a few individuals at the expense of the tax payers.

“I am asking the President to order State officials whose dockets have been named in scandals, some amounting to billions of shillings, to resign,” urged the ANC leader, as quoted by Daily Nation.

The remarks came after Uhuru, who is on the verge of completing his second and final term in office, vowed not to change his stand in the war against the vice.

In his speech during the State of the Nation address, the president said that he will not be manipulated to sack anyone unless there is evidence to prove the same.
