As curtains closed on Miss Tourism competition, Sarah Pkyach walked to the valleys of Kapedo, or to liberation town of Kapenguria as the winner of the coveted prize.
Even though the popular vote went to Joyce Lasambu of Kakamega, Ms. Pkyach was also among candidates who charmed men online prior to the competition.
For instance in Nyamira, social media users voluntarily rallied for her due to what they termed as 'natural outlook and black beauty', dealing a blow to county representative Bernadette Ogega.
"We need black beauty queens like her. No make up, very simple and appealing. She's my choice and I don't regret," wrote Amos Abuga.
Another user, Charles Misati said: "Already cast my vote for West Pokot. She's outstanding in all aspects. Nyamira we lost due to make ups."
Ms. Bernadette Ogega did not even make it among the top 13 in the competition that had all 47 representatives at Safari Park hotel on Saturday night.
Throughout Saturday afternoon, social media users trolled the Nyamira representative, an outgoing Miss Campus MMUST for the little known Sarah.
The county did not however hold competition at grassroot thus compelling Vera Beauty College, the proprietor of the event, to hold auditions in Nairobi.
