Speaking on Saturday, the parliamentarian accused media houses of propagating the heating political temperatures in the country by putting its opinion above the actual happenings.

He said that the media is also taking political sides and using its powers to create non-existent political truces and coalitions, which might have negative consequences in the future.

Aladwa added that so intense is the same that the media now looks like another major political party, separate from the ruling and opposing sides, out to victimize the others.

"Our main problem currently as a country is this new political party called the media which is driving its own agenda instead of merely passing information to Kenyans," he said.

The outspoken parliamentarian was speaking on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi show Saturday morning.

He also weighed in on the continued politicking around the upcoming 2022 general elections which has been great fodder for the media and has been the most discussed over the last few weeks.

He noted that the party and its leader and opposition boss Raila Odinga do not want to be part of the issue until the right time comes.

"About 2022, we as a party under Raila Odinga will not be involved" he added.
