The campaign, which is led by Siaya Senator James Orengo, aims at ensuring its candidate Chris Karan reclaims the seat after the Supreme Court nullified his win, citing illegalities and irregularities in the August 2017 General elections.

Speaking when the leaders from the political outfit led Karan when he presented his nominations papers to Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) offices in Sega Township, Orengo said that they will mount what he termed as a mother of all campaigns to ensure the party remains strong in the region, Standard reports.

Karan received a major boost as he looks forward to the contest for the seat after President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party threw its weight behind him ahead of the exercise.

Four candidates from various political outfits have also already expressed their interest in the contest.

The other contestants include Third Way Alliance’s Brian Omondi, David Ochieng of Movement for Growth and Democracy (MDG), Daniel Juma of the Grand Dreams Development Party (GDDP)

Orengo has exuded confidence that the ODM candidate will give his competitors a run for their money as the party pools together all its resources to ensure he emerges victorious.
