According to former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama, Wiper leaders are set to meet in February to discuss Kalonzo’s political fate amid the rebellion from his own Ukambani backyard.

The meeting comes after governors Alfred Mutua (Machakos), Charity Ngilu (Kitui) and Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) called for Kalonzo's replacement as the Ukambani political kingpin.

The trio argued that Kalonzo has proven beyond doubt that he cannot be relied upon to lead the people towards development.

They claimed that Kalonzo has nothing to show despite having been in leadership for decades.

The Ukambani governors challenged the former Vice President to show any project he has undertaken in the region before asking them to back his presidential candidature in 2022 polls.

Ngilu, Kibwana, and Mutua said they will not be compelled to support Kalonzo when that time comes.

He addressed the press in Matungulu, Machakos county on Saturday.

Muthama said the three county bosses should be prepared for the worst after turning against Kalonzo.

He said they will prove that Kalonzo controls not only Ukambani but the entire nation through the meeting.

“From today, these governors should brace themselves for political war. We’ll invite Kalonzo’s supporters from all the 47 counties to the meeting at Komarock to demonstrate to the world his presidential bid enjoys support not just within Ukambani but across the country,” Muthama said.
