Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana on Sunday met former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga amid rising political temperatures in Ukambani. The ODM Leader later revealed that the duo discussed issues to do with devolution when they met at his Karen home.
“Governor Kivutha Kibwana called on me at my Karen home this morning for a discussion on the state of devolved governments and other related national issues,” he said on his Facebook account
The meeting comes at a time when Kibwana and Former Vice President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka are embroiled in leadership wrangles. Kibwana allegedly relinquished his position as Wiper Chairman after accusing Kalonzo of frustrating him.
Kibwana with Alfred Mutua (Machakos) and Charity Ngilu (Kitui) have been faulting Kalonzo’s leadership. The trio claims that Kalonzo has been using Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) to frustrate them.
The county boss now wants Kalonzo to replace as the Kamba political kingpin. The three have vowed to work together to transform their regions. They have been asking the Kamba nation to abandon Kalonzo in 2022 because he has nothing to show despite having been in power for many years.
They claim that Kalonzo has proven beyond doubt that he will take them nowhere. The Wiper leaders are now back the drawing board as rebellion continues. A section of Kenyans have endorsed Kibwana for the top seat because of his performance scoreboard.
