The Real Madrid midfielder has said his side will be wary of Three Lions'set-piece threat when they clash later this week.

England has been remarkable from dead-ball situations in the World Cup, with defender Harry Maguire's header against Sweden marking the eighth goal to be scored from a set piece by the English team in Russia 2018.

Modric warned his teammates that his side must improve their awareness from corners and free kicks after Croatia were pegged back in extra time by Mario Fernandes's header in the quarterfinals.

"We expect a very difficult, tight game and demanding match against our opponent England, like in every match at the World Cup," the 32-year-old said.

"We have to enjoy the moment and we then have to focus on England. I'm sure we will prepare well since we only demand a win after the match."We watched the game today and saw how good they are from dead-ball situations. We will have to improve on our set-piece defending between now and Wednesday as we conceded from one at the end of the game today."Modric narrowly converted his penalty kick
