Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua has said that as legislators and government leaders, they are not aware of what Huduma Namba is all about.
Speaking on Monday morning at Citizen TV's Daybreak show, the Mathira MP said that Kenyans are not prepared for the Huduma Namba exercise.
"People are not prepared for the Huduma Namba including us leaders to a point that even when wananchi ask us what it is about we say we do not know," he said
He further warned the government over the use of force in implementing its agenda stating that the role of the state is to provide services to the people.
He told off Interior CS Fred Matiang'i for being an autocratic leader.
"I was in Moi’s government and we were doing this the way Matiang’i is doing them. We do not want to introduce too much government into people’s lives; the government’s work is to give services," noted Gachagua.
The Huduma Namba registration kicked off last month after President Uhuru Kenyatta launched it in Machakos County assuring Kenyans that it is a safe and secure way of accessing government services.
However, the security of the data collected by the government has been questioned.
