The hostels and the houses are not well secured. However, those they term as 'International Students' are well protected with police officers having modern machinery while those of lesser God left in the hands of watchmen who rarely patrol the hostels and do not have the machinery apart from 'rungus'.

On Friday, at 9.00  pm, a student was hijacked and forced to hand in his phone and the little money he had for the upkeep while going to his room in the renowned C houses which is part of the university apartments.

According to the student, he had just finished his take away assignment from the school of Biological and Physical Sciences because the school has wireless internet access and he had to take the advantage of the Wi-Fi since he had no money to purchase bundles to do the assignment.

The incident was quickly followed by another robbery attack on another school premises, E houses. This took place at 12 midnight where the students were robbed through the window and some valuable items like mobile phones and laptops. All these attacks are never addressed by the management and at no point, the houses have been fully secured. It should be remembered that last semester, a first year was raped by the same watchmen who are supposed to protect them.

As if that is not enough, the houses and hostels are never renovated yet students pay for them. It becomes worse when it rains, the students swim in water indoors helplessly like a drawing paper on water.

Compared to their counterparts, the International students, their premises are well guarded with full security from the nearby Kesses police station.

The children of lesser God continues to suffer trying to make a bright future. However, the only hope remaining is the quote that, man for himself and God for us all.
