Nominated Member of Parliament Godfrey Osotsi has been the latest leader to question Deputy President William Ruto's regular trips around the nation.

The debate was initiated by President Uhuru Kenyatta who in early June threw a Jibe at his deputy over the same, in what he termed as 'kutangatanga' (loitering).

In response, Ruto said that his weekly trips are solely pinned on development, saying that he is using them to launch government projects, a claim Osotsi has rubbished.

Speaking on Radio Jambo on Tuesday evening, the lawmaker bashed Ruto for insincerity, noting that he is instead using the excuse to hide the fact that he is campaigning for his 2022 presidential bid.

"Awache kudanganya wakenya eti anazindua miradi. Kwani kazi ya kamishna wa kaunti na viongozi wengine wa serikali ni gani? (he should stop fooling Kenyans. What he says he is claiming to be doing can be done by other government officers like County Commissioners)," said Osotsi.

He accused the DP of misappropriating the taxpayer's money on his many trips courtesy of his transport, allowances and the huge delegations of allies always accompanying him for the events.

Osotsi said that he will soon move a motion to have the DP answer to the same allegations should the trend continue.

"Itafika mahali tumuulize anapotoa hizi pesa za kuweka gari mafuta na allowances zake na za wale anaotembea nao (a time will come when he will have to tell the nation how he funds his transport and facilitates the same for the people who accompany him to these events)," said the lawmaker.
