The activity which is being carried out across all the 30 wards in partnership with Sub-County and Ward Administrators, aims at identifying and collecting data including locations of all the joints and establishing recommendations of how to control mushrooming of unlicensed outlets.

Mombasa Sub-County Co-ordinator Idris Abdirahman said the county government will ensure all alcohol joints are prevented from being a bother to the community.

During the first day of the mapping exercise, areas such as; Mwembe Kuku, Barclays, Mzimima, and Mash in Tononoka Ward, Badarini village, Kaa Chonjo, Jua Kali, Kafoka, Spaki, and Majengo Simba in Tudor Ward, and Old Town were inspected.

Other areas include Majengo, Ganjoni/Shimanzi, Magogoni, Kipevu and Bombolulu in Frere Town Ward.
