In a high profile meeting in State House Friday afternoon, Jubilee's Kolosh got Uhuru's backing, a move that will evidently put him in a better position to win the seat.

Breaking the new developments via his Twitter handle, Duale said that together with President Uhuru, they assured Kolosh of their support.

The Garissa Township MP further revealed that North Eastern region was a Jubilee stronghold.

"We assured our party leader that North Eastern is a Jubilee territory and we shall mobilize wananchi and members of our party in Wajir West so as to deliver the seat to our party,” Duale wrote.

Kolosh who is the immediate former Wajir West MP lost his seat after a successful election petition by KANU aspirant, Ibrahim Sheikh leading to the nullification of his win.

Kolosh’s election victory was revoked by the Supreme Court in January 2019.

Since the nullification of his win, Kolosh has since switched parties from ODM to Jubilee party which never fronted a candidate during the 2017 polls.

He will now battle ODM's Mohammed Yussuf in the April 25 by-election
