President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga were on Friday hosted by the Deputy President William Ruto for lunch at his Karen home.
The three leaders had attended a requiem mass of Jane Kiano, the former Maendeleo Ya Wanawake leader who died last week at St Francis ACK in Karen.
At the service, Uhuru mourned Mrs Kiano, the wife to former cabinet minister Gikonyo Kiano, as a loving mother and leader.
On his part, Raila took the advantage to defend himself and President Uhuru Kenyatta over claims that they are keen to ensure their dynasties last longer.
In his passionate address, Raila insisted that his ascendancy in politics along with Uhuru, were as result of sheer hard work and determination.
For Ruto, he remembered how the late allowed him and President Uhuru Kenyatta to temporarily use her house during the tallying of 2013 presidential elections.
And moments after the service, the three, in the company of Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen, thronged into Ruto's compound where they had lunch.
While Raila and Ruto are neighbours in Karen, Uhuru's private residence is in Kilimani, few meters from his State House offices.
They took photos moments after lunch and Raila understandably left the two behind as he drove off for another private function.
It was the first time in as many years the three protagonists we're sharing a table, with their relationship experiencing hiccups and often reading from different political scriptures.
