A Nyamira-based Wiper Party politician has launched a war with KNUT secretary general Wilson Sossion for allegedly inciting teachers to go on strike starting January 2, 2019.
Victor Swanya, a former MP contestant in Kitutu Masaba constituency on Wednesday said Sossion's efforts to have teachers strike next year won't work.
"It is very unfortunate that Sossion who turned to be a politician is committed to ensuring teachers are going on strike. He is ill-minded and teachers should ignore him," Swanya said.
He insisted that transferring of teachers should not be politicized by anyone.
"Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has a right to transfer teachers to various schools. Sossion won't dictate TSC on what should be done. Teachers across the country should accept to be transferred for the sake of exposure," he added.
According to Swanya, the ODM party nominated MP only wants to continue misleading teachers.
The vocal politician urged teachers in Nyamira County to consider returning to school on January 2, 2019, to continue shaping the lives of pupils and students.
He said parents should start preparing their children to report back to school.
