Father Michael Kyego, a Catholic priest who was kidnapped and later found dead was on Tuesday laid to rest at his Machakos home.
Leaders and friends who attended the burial decried the brutal murder, calling on the investigating agencies to serve his family justice.
Matungulu lawmaker Stephen Mule maintained that “Nobody is above the law and we need to respect human right and the dignity of the society."
Fr Kyengo is reportedly said to have been abducted in Machakos and later driven to Embu where he was killed and body dumped in a thicket.
Nicholas Masyuki who spoke on behalf of his family during a requiem mass called on Kenyans to have more value for life than money.
“You can't get rid of a life because of money,” he said calling on the clergy to sensitise people against the vice.
Fr Kyengo was ordained as a Catholic priest in 2012 and until his death; he was serving as a Thatha parish assistant priest.
