Tana River is among counties that will receive heavy rainfall starting Wednesday as the Meteorological Department warns of flooding.
Parts of neighbouring Garissa County will also receive the showers.
Kenya Meteorological Department, in a statement, said rains will continue causing flooding in low lying areas near the coastline.
According to the weatherman, heavy rainfall of between 30mm to 50mm is expected from Wednesday to Friday.
Other counties to be affected by the heavy rainfall are Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale counties.
The met department has urged residents in the affected areas to also be on the lookout as the heavy rains will be accompanied by strong winds and large waves.
The weatherman advised the people to be more cautious as the rains continue hitting many parts of the country warning those in the low lying area to relocate to higher ground and road users to be careful.
“Residents in all the mentioned areas are advised to be on the lookout for flash floods. People should avoid driving, wading or walking through any fast-moving waters. The heavy rains and strong winds offshore may result in storm surges,” reads the notice in part.
The Central Highlands including Nairobi are likely to experience early morning cloudiness that will give way to sunny intervals but afternoon showers will be experienced in a few areas.
