In a blistering tweet on Monday, Mwangi claimed that the bodies of dead officers were being transported like trash, calling it immoral and criminal.

"It is immoral and criminal for the government to transport bodies of dead officers like trash. There was no bodybags, not even bedsheets to cover their bodies. The question is, where are the 30 armoured vehicles President Uhuru Kenyatta posed with in 2017? @NziokaWaita @kdfinfo, " the activist's tweet read.

Mwangi's strong words come in the wake of the deaths of officers who were killed by IEDs in Wajir.

The officers were killed at Konton area in Wajir Saturday morning as they were travelling in their car.

Mwangi shared pictures of President Uhuru Kenyatta posing with the armoured vehicles that were acquired to help in the fight against terrorism.

In 2016, the United States of America donated 12 Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) to help Kenya in border surveillance.

The APCs were also seen as effective in navigating terrains that are booby-trapped with IEDs.

Questions have been raised as to why the killed officers were not given the APCs to move in.
