Deputy President William Samoei Ruto has arrived in Kisumu where he will be gracing the event for the installation of Philip Arnold Subira Anyolo as Kisumu Catholic Archbishop.
The DP is among the prominent leaders who were invited to the big event that will see Anyolo, who also doubles up as the chairman of the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB), take over from Archbishop Zacchaeus Okoth.
The latter is retiring after serving in the position since May 21, 1990.
Other leaders who have arrived at Uzima University grounds in Kisumu where the event is being held are FORD Kenya party leader Senator Moses Wetangula, Devolution CS Eugine Wamalwa, deputy minority leader of the national assembly Chris Wamalwa among others.
Several leaders including President Uhuru Kenyatta, Opposition Leader Raila Odinga, all the four Luo Nyanza county chiefs and all Catholic Bishops in the Country were invited.
However, Father Nyataya who hails from the diocese said that the head of state and Opposition leader were yet to confirm their attendance.
The event was set to see Ruto, Raila and President Kenyatta meet again in Kisumu after they met there last month during the launch of the Universal Health Care programme.
