Former Gor Maia star Meddie Kagere is expected to move to Egyptian side El Zamalek in what might become one of the most expensive transfers.
According to a Tanzanian daily, El Zamalek head coach Mr Christian Gross has opened talks on how yo get the player, with the Egyptian giants setting aside Sh45 million to capture the lethal forward.
Kagere scored the only Goal in their CAF away tour to Egypt against Al Ahly, and it's his performance that attracted Christian, who believes adding the striker to his squad will further improve his striking force.
Simba head coach Mr Patrick Aussems, however, admitted that they have received a letter from El Zamalek requesting the release of the Rwandese, who is now their top scorer in the league with a total of eight goals in just six league games.
Kagere, who signed for Simba in June last year has had a stellar career, starting from his first club; Police FC, where he began his career in 2015.
Kagere will, however, wait till June this year to get the agreement between the two clubs, but the club has to give him a go-ahead first.
Kagere was a fan favourite while playing for Gor Mahia, and his move to Simba was one that broke many fans' hearts.
Zamalek will come face to face with Gor in the CAF group match this week and will seek to revenge their loss in Nairobi, where they were beaten 4-2 by Gor.
