Maina said despite the recent spate of crimes in the area, security agents will ensure insecurity is a thing of the past.

She noted that with the ongoing police reforms, new police posts will be set up in the area and some posts upgraded to stations.

"Every citizen has the right to security and security agents will ensure there's enough security in Mlolongo. In the next one year, cases of insecurity will not be heard because we will have rooted every bad character from the area," said the County Commissioner.

She, however, disclosed that no curfew will be imposed to restrict residents' movement urging the residents to work closely with the police to ensure security.

She said that her office is open to anyone with information concerning the attacks.

"My office is open if you're not getting help in Mlolongo or Athi River offices and I promise confidentiality to any information you give," she said.

She addressed the press in her office on Thursday.

Last week, two people died while two others sustained serious injuries after armed robbers raided an M-Pesa shop in Mlolongo.
