A man has gone into hiding after he was caught in the act with his stepmother on Thursday at Ebate village in Gesura, Boisanga in Nyamira County.
Jairus Obaga is said to have visited his step-mother, Lucy Moraa’s house for a cup of porridge but, he ended up having sex with her.
A witness, Doris Makori said she went to Moraa's house to request for help in picking tea at the farm when pounced on the two locked in a steamy love-making session.
“Obaga’s father died 1 year ago and left Moraa with 2 kids. Obaga has been chasing her for sex. He went to her house for a cup of porridge but, ended up taking her to bed,” said Makori.
She raised alarm prompting Obaga to escape before the residents could arrive.
Moses Machuka, an elder in the area condemned the incident and said it is an abomination for Obaga to sleep with his late father’s wife.
“The Gusii culture doesn’t allow sons to sleep with their fathers’ wives. It is an abomination. Obaga must make apologies and sacrifices to be done to cleanse him for the purpose of having a good life in future,” he said.
Area assistant chief, Bernard Orang’i confirmed the incident and said Obaga escaped into a nearby tea plantation.
“Moraa confessed that Obaga was having sex with her in her house because he has been chasing her for sex. We don’t condone such things to happen in the community. Elders should take action and punish the woman for allowing her step-son to sleep with her and the same should happen to Obaga,” said the chief.
