A section of Nyamira County locals have broken silence after Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i launched digitization of police services.
The locals said Matiang'i is busy making unnecessary changes in the police force while crime is at the peak.
"Matiang'i is rushing to make changes in the police services but, poor in ensuring crime cases are at zero rate. Digitizing police services will not bring competency in the police force," noted Ezekiel Onchanda.
Henry Gisore faulted Matiang'i for changing police uniform and digitizing services instead of sacking rogue police officers harassing innocent people.
"There is nothing good Matiang'i is doing which will help our people. Police are harassing our people daily especially Public Service Vehicles (PSVs) operators but, Matiang'i is doing nothing," said Gisore.
Enock Ongeri stated that digitizing police services will only benefit police and not Kenyans.
"Let Matiang'i first work hard to flush out criminals terrorizing people by ensuring police officers are competent before he rushes to make changes. Digitizing services will not help in ending crime in this country," said Ongeri.
Mr. Ongeri challenged Matiang'i to prioritize boosting security.
